Prayer and the Lord's Prayer

6
Chapter 6
5 And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners so that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, enter your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you. 7 When you pray, however, do not babble as the Gentiles do, for they think that in their much speaking they will be heard. 8 Do not be like them, therefore, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 Therefore, pray in this way: Our Father, the one in the heavens; hallowed be your name. 10 Let your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. 14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will forgive you also. 15 But if you do not forgive people, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.
